Cook Wrestling Teams Shine in a Busy Week of Competition
The Cook County wrestling teams showcased their talent and determination in a packed week of competition, delivering outstanding performances across three events.
Thursday, Dec. 5: Battle for the Bridge Rivalry
The Hornets traveled to Berrien High School with over 80 wrestlers, competing in the annual Battle for the Bridge. Both the middle school and high school teams faced off against their rivals. The high school team emerged victorious in commanding fashion, solidifying Cook’s dominance in the rivalry.
Friday, Dec. 6: Blue Devil Brawl Success
Cook High’s Junior Varsity and Women’s teams competed in the Blue Devil Brawl at Tift County High School, wrestling well into the evening. Several athletes delivered podium-worthy performances, earning top spots:

Saturday, Dec. 7: Blue Devil Duals
The varsity Hornets took two teams to Tift High School for the Blue Devil Duals, going head-to-head with some of Georgia’s top programs. Cook had an impressive day, defeating multiple Class 6A schools and reaching the finals. In a nail-biting showdown, Cook narrowly fell to #4-ranked 6A Colquitt County, 37-38, securing a 2nd place team finish with a 4-1 record.
