Fields of Faith brings community together for worship

FCA Huddle Leaders perform on stage holding signs saying "HE is Greater," "He > Me," and "God is greater!"

Fields of Faith 2023, the Cook County Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA) annual event of student-led praise and worship, had to be moved from Cook High Memorial Stadium to inside the Carolyn Harris Performing Arts Center due to rain on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023. But the bad weather didn’t dampen the positive, excited spirit of the crowd who joined the celebration.

Fields of Faith kicked off with a meet and greet, balloons, and Bible trivia, followed by the video “Church Clap” and songs “Glorious Day” and “Thank God.”

Hannah Griffin gave the welcome and introduced the theme. FCA members presented the poster skit, “What has God done for you lately?” The video, “Our God” with Chris Tomlin, was shown.

FCA members sang “I Trust in God,” followed by testimony from Kingsley Fisher. The FCA then sang “Reason to Praise.”

FCA members performed the skit, “Taking Baggage to Jesus.” The video, “Rescue” with Lauren Daigle, was featured.

Peyton Daughtrey next gave testimony, followed by the song, “Worthy of It All.”

Drew Yates, New Life Baptist Church Youth Pastor, then gave the benediction and led the altar call. FCA members sang “I Speak Jesus.”

Sarah Bostic, Southeast Georgia FCA, gave the release, and the video “Church Clap” was performed for the closing.

Huddle Leaders of FCA organized Fields of Faith.

“I am so proud of this group of young people!” Sarah Bostic stated after the event. “They stood in front of their peers and a whole crowd of people and boldly shared their faith in Christ. We have had the best time preparing for this event, and it was precious to see them so excited when the night finally arrived! I probably couldn’t pick a favorite part of the night even if I tried. It was all my favorite!

“Very, very special thank you to Cook High School for allowing us to use the facilities, Cook Community Bank (Angelina Clanton) for providing supper for those in attendance, Lenox Church of God for doing an absolutely AMAZING job of leading us in worship, all Cook County youth leaders and pastors for bringing their teenagers, Jessi July Clothing Co. for doing our T shirts, and all of our adults who help make FCA happen at CHS.

“We are so blessed to be able to do something like this, at such a time as this. Counting my blessings real hard tonight.”
