Homecoming Week featured many fun activities at Cook High School and other Cook County schools, including dress-up days throughout the week.

The Homecoming Parade moved through downtown Adel on Thursday evening. Reflecting the theme, “Putting the Hornets on the Map!,” grade levels decorated their floats with the following big cities around the world: 12th/New York City; 11th/Rio de Janeiro; 10th/Las Vegas; and 9th/New Orleans. The float award winners were: 1st place, Sophomores; 2nd place, Juniors; 3rd place, Seniors; and 4th place, Freshmen.

During the Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday, Drew Folsom was crowned Football King, and Halie Fulghum was crowned Football Queen. The sophomores won the Pep Rally Spirit Stick.

The CHS Hornets won 21-6 over Jeff Davis at Friday night’s Homecoming game. Please see complete coverage of the game in this week’s issue.

The special week concluded with the Homecoming Dance, held on Saturday evening, September 23, in the school cafeteria. Also, class reunions were held last weekend for the Class of 1958 and the Class of 2013.
