Congratulations to the Cook High Hornets! They fought back on Friday night to win 32-28 over the Brooks County Trojans, reigning state champs in their class. Great game! The outcome was the first Hornet victory against the Trojans in a dozen years.

Please see complete game coverage on this week’s Sports Page.

In the next home game this Friday night, Sept. 9, the Hornets will face the so-far undefeated Clinch County Panthers. Start time will be at 7:30 p.m. at Cook Memorial Stadium Veterans Field.

The Hornets will be observing Armed Forces Night. Active and retired military members may wear their uniforms for free entry.
