Mrs. Mary Nell Boyette, 83

Mrs. Mary Nell Boyette, age 83, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on June 9, 2026 at her residence.  Mrs. Boyette was born on October 16, 1942 in Adel, Georgia to the late Hall Lankford Lasseter and the late Stella Effie Howell Lasseter.  She was a member of New Life Baptist Church and lived all of her life in Cook County.  Mrs. Boyette was retired from the Cook County Board of Education where she served as a Para Pro for Pre-K.

Mrs. Boyette is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Hannah Boyette of Adel; her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Greg Mathis of Nashville, Georgia; five grandchildren: Kristie Purvis, Laura and Bubba Bailey, Rebecca and Caleb Brady, all of Adel, Morgan and Patrick Philpot, Marlee and Eric Morris, all of Nashville; ten great grandchildren: Noah Purvis, Isaac Kennedy, Grayson Kennedy, Brooke Bailey, Jake Bailey, Caden Brady, Brynlee Brady, Ellie Rose Morris, Grant Philpot and Meri Layne Morris; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Lynda Lasseter of Byron, Georgia; and one sister, Latrelle Mobley of Adel.  A host of nieces and nephews also survive.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Isaac Boyette; two brothers, Julian Lasseter and Gerald Lasseter; and one sister, Erma Jean Sumner.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM on Friday afternoon, June 12, 2026, at New Life Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Duncan and Rev. Chad Payne officiating.  Interment followed at Wilkes Cemetery located on the grounds of Community Calvary Holiness Church.  Special music for the service included recordings by The Believers of “First Day in Heaven,” “Meet Me By the River” and “The Eagle Song.” The New Life Church Choir sang “It Is Well.”  Eric Morris, Patrick Philpot, Bubba Bailey, Caleb Brady, Isaac Kennedy, Grayson Kennedy, Noah Purvis, Caden Brady, Jake Bailey, Grant Philpot, Brynlee Brady, Brooke Bailey, Ellie Rose Morris and Meri Layne Morris served as pallbearers.  Visitation took place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.
