Two local men were recently charged in two different child molestation cases allegedly involving further violence, according to law enforcement officials.
Man accused of molesting, threatening victim
David Adam Richardson, 35, of Hahira was arrested June 5, 2025, and charged with aggravated child molestation and terroristic threats and acts/family violence, according to Cook County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations.
According to warrants taken by the Sheriff’s Office, during offense times between Nov. 18, 2018, and Jan. 4, 2021, at a County Line Road, Hahira, address, Richardson committed sex acts against a girl under the age of 16. During offense times from Feb. 22 to Feb. 23, 2023, Richardson allegedly threatened to murder the victim. Warrants state that the victim called the suicide hotline for help, and the offender told her, “If you tell anyone, you stupid little _____, I will slit your throat and kill everyone you love.”
Cook County Magistrate Judge Nichole McCrary issued arrest warrants against Richardson on May 22, 2025.
On June 6, 2025, Cook County Chief Magistrate Judge Stephen Chammoun denied bond (pretrial release from jail) for Richardson. According to the judge’s order, “the accused has been charged with crimes under O.C.G.A. 17-6-1, of which this court does not have the authority to set bond.” Richardson may still seek bond in a hearing before a Superior Court judge.
According to information reported during the first appearance/bond hearing in Magistrate Court, Richardson has completed the 12th grade and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, has resided 13 years at his current home address, and has been employed. Court records state that the accused has declined a court-appointed defense attorney (apparently will use the services of a hired defense attorney).
The Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case, which is pending in Cook County Superior Court.
Man faces child molestation and aggravated assault charges
Dominique Antwand Sims, 37, of Sparks was arrested June 4, 2025, and charged with child molestation, aggravated assault, burglary, first degree, and probation violation, according to the Sparks Police Department and Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
According to warrants taken by Sparks Police, during offense times between Aug. 1, 2017, and Aug. 4, 2018, at a Third Street, Sparks, address, Sims committed sex acts against a girl under the age of 16.
Warrants further state that at about 3:30 a.m. Aug. 19, 2018, Sims removed an air conditioner unit from a window to illegally enter the same residence. He then allegedly used a knife to assault a woman. He woke the victim up while standing naked over her; he was holding a knife and wearing gloves, warrants state.
Cook County Magistrate Judge Ronnie Fender issued the arrest warrants against Sims on Aug. 20, 2020.
On June 6, 2025, Cook County Magistrate Judge Stephen Chammoun denied bond (pretrial release from jail) for Sims. According to the judge’s order, “the accused poses a significant risk of committing a felony pending trial.” Sims was also already on probation for aggravated assault and sexual battery against a child under age 16 (two counts). The order also states, “The accused has been charged with crimes under O.C.G.A. 17-6-1, of which this court does not have the authority to set bond.” Sims may still seek bond in a hearing before a Superior Court judge.
Court records state that the accused has completed school through the 11th grade, and is homeless and unemployed. The accused has requested a court-appointed defense attorney.
The Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case, which is pending in Cook County Superior Court.
