Tyrone McDaniel, 84

Mr. Tyrone McDaniel, age 84, of Adel, Georgia passed away on March 14, 2024 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.  He was born on October 12, 1939 in Adel and lived in Cook County most of his life.  Mr. McDaniel was the son of the late Love McDaniel and Mary Ruth Crosby McDaniel.  He was a member of the Adel Church of God and was retired from TM Polyfilm where he worked in corporate accounting services.  Mr. McDaniel also served honorably in the U.S. Army.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by two step-daughters and sons-in-law: Stacey and Lee Atkinson of Eatonton, Georgia, and Kelli and Kyle Dorminey of Adel; seven grandchildren: Caleb and Rebecca Atkinson of Nuremberg, Germany, Sarah Atkinson of Tifton, Georgia, Seth Atkinson of Eatonton, and Kassi Dorminey, Kate Ashley Dorminey, Kylee Dorminey and Kamryn Dorminey, all of Adel; two sisters: Shirley Register of Hahira, Georgia and Jeanette Parker of Morven, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Junkins McDaniel and a brother, Franklin McDaniel.

The funeral service for Mr. McDaniel took place at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Adel Church of God with Rev. Charles Blair, Rev. Ashley Way and Rev. Chad Payne officiating.  Interment followed at Woodlawn City Cemetery.  Visitation was held Friday evening, March 15, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home.  Kyle Dorminey, Lee Atkinson, Seth Atkinson, Franklin McDaniel Jr., Craig Parker and Roger McDaniel served as pallbearers.  Joyce Croft played piano, Chuck Day sang “Midnight Cry”, Shanna Smith sang “My Home” and the congregation sang “Amazing Grace” at the service.
