David Lovett, 82

David Lovett, 82 of Adel passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at his home. David was born August 16, 1941 in Sparks to the late James Eugene Lovett, Sr. and Martha Jim Avera Lovett. He proudly served in the United States Army and worked with Sears, Roebuck and Co. before retiring. David loved his family and was an avid Cook High Hornet supporter and Ga Bulldog Fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church Adel, where he was also a member of the Men’s III Sunday School Class and a member of the VVA Chapter 1090 Group. David enjoyed working in the kitchen at his church, he was fondly known for having a big heart and never met a stranger.

Survivors include his sisters, Jan Lindsey of Adel, and Genie (Charlie) Womble of Savannah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. David was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Lovett; and his brother, Jimmy Lovett.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church Adel with Dr. Neal Sweet officiating. With the eulogy being done by Breelyn Love and Baylor Love. Interment followed at Woodlawn City Cemetery with military rites. Serving as active pallbearers were Mike Lindsey, Mike Crosby, Scott Clifton, Jon Love, Drew Cummings, and Reece Kendrick. Honorary pallbearers were the Men’s III Sunday School Class, the VVA Chapter 1090 Group, and the Ladies Hornets Softball Team. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.purvisfh.com.
