Alma Moakley, 83

Alma Moakley, 83, of Adel, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at her home. Alma was born to the late John and Ella Mae Rowell Cooper on October 22, 1940, in Douglas, GA. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Alma was a true homemaker who loved to crochet, sew, and cook. Growing flowers brought her happiness; in her free time, she found peace by the water while fishing. Alma cherished her time as an attendee of Ray City Freewill Holiness Church.

Survivors include her sons, Jimmy David (JoAnn) Richardson of Adel and Billy Henry (Kim) Richardson of Lakeland, GA; daughter, Barbara Tucker of Lakeland, GA; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas “Skeeter” Cooper of Morven, GA; sisters, Glenda Carol Alexander of Hahira and Brenda Faye Knight of Nashville. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Sean Richardson; brothers, Jerome Cooper, Danny Ray Cooper, Johnny Cooper, and James Cooper; and her sisters, Betty Joyce Gray, Linda Sue Adle, and Martha Jean Burger.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Ray City Freewill Holiness Church with Rev. Marty McCranie officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at Purvis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
