Homer Barnett, 84, of Adel passed away on October 31, 2023, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Mr. Barnett was born on February 22, 1939, to the late Rufus and Bessie Barnett. As a young man, Homer served our country in the United States Air Force. After his service, he spent many years as a district manager for Dresser Industries where he dealt with many oil rigs. He will forever be remembered for his passion for life’s simple pleasures. As a dedicated gardener, Homer found fulfillment in tending to his fruitful vegetable garden. He also enjoyed fishing as another outdoor pastime. Homer enjoyed the thrill of shopping, especially when he got to try the samples at Sam’s Club. As an unwavering fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Homer proudly displayed his loyalty, sporting the team’s colors and cheering them on through wins and losses. While he enjoyed many things, gospel music truly touched Homer’s heart and soul, so much that he affectionally referred to it as “Singing To the Lord”.
