Mr. James Felder “Jimmy” Davis, 78

Mr. James Felder “Jimmy” Davis, 78, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away September 28, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Davis was born January 1, 1945 in Tifton, Georgia to the late Raymond William Davis and Flora Nell Godwin Davis. He was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. He was a graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. He retired from Duval County School System where he was a teacher, assistant coach and drivers education instructor. Jimmy loved and played sports in high school and was an ardent football fan. He loved and enjoyed his faithful friends and family in his later years.

Mr. Davis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Will and Laura Davis, three grandchildren, Max Davis, Liam Davis and Grayson Davis all of Jacksonville; one sister, Sandra R. Sumner of Lenox, Georgia; niece, Libby R. Burton of Barney, Georgia; nephew and wife, Ken and Kaye Rountree of Lenox, Georgia.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 PM. on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at  Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel, Georgia with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating and remarks being given by Cliff Burton.  “Amazing Grace” was played at the service.
