Mrs. Mary Lou Paulk, 81
Mrs. Mary Lou Paulk, age 81, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. She was born on May 30, 1941 in Cook County where she lived most of her life except for the past ten years living in Valdosta. Mrs. Paulk was the daughter of the late Mayo Webb and the late Lessie Earline Cain Webb. She was retired from Winn Dixie where she worked as the deli manager and she was a member of Adel Church of God.
Mrs. Paulk is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa Paulk Hogan and husband, Tim Hogan, of Palm Coast, Florida, Cindy Paulk Gibbs and husband, Bruce Gibbs, of Jacksonville, Florida, Julie Paulk Inman and husband, Jamie Inman, of Gainesville, Florida; twelve grandchildren and their spouses: Bradley and Alexis Moore of Palm Coast, Matt and Meg Moore of Columbia, South Carolina, Tyce and Jaclyn Moore of Palm Coast, Stephanie and Josh Bushman, Ashley and Jay Farris, Tyler Gibbs, Reagan Gibbs, all of Jacksonville, James Ellis and Jacob Ellis, both of Medford, Oregon, Heather Ivec of Jacksonville, Taylor Martin of Valdosta, and Marissa Martin of Gainesville; eleven great-grandchildren: Anistyn, Brenner, Tatum, Jace, Belle, Swift, Callie, Ella, Leeam, Mary Katherine, and Adalyn; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Dolly Neely and Eveline and Tim Stone, all of Valdosta; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Sandra Webb of Valdosta. A special “thank you” goes out to her friend and caretaker, Teresa Creel of Valdosta. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Paulk was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Paulk Connell; the father of her four children, J.B. Paulk, Jr.; her husband, Steve Barton; and a sister, Linda Webb Green.
The funeral service for Mrs. Paulk took place at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, GA 31620) with Rev. Charles Blair and Rev. Andy Pearson officiating. Interment followed at Sparks City Cemetery. Steve Meders sang “How Great Thou Art” and “I Can Only Imagine” at the service. Pallbearers included Bradley Moore, Tyce Moore, Reagan Gibbs, Bruce Gibbs, Ron Stone, Tim Hogan, Jamie Inman and Matt Moore. The visitation was held at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
