Carl Dwayne (Dwain) Fletcher, 84
Carl Dwayne (Dwain) Fletcher, 84, peacefully passed away at home on January 27, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born June 30th, 1938 in Cecil Georgia to Carl and Montine (Chambers) Fletcher. He married his best friend and life partner, Billie Jo Fletcher in May 1975, creating a loving blended family. They were married for 47 years.
Mr. Fletcher’s humble beginnings growing up in rural South Georgia taught him a strong work ethic. He enlisted in the USAF in 1955 and served his country faithfully. After his discharge he took the skills that the military taught him in the Audio Visual field and contracted for those services at Moody AFB, and then many installations around the country. He also formed private businesses in Adel and Valdosta which further served to refine his trade in photography. Together, with his wife BJ, they raised their children with a solid work ethic and fostered a loving family home which honored a frugal, conservative lifestyle.
He is predeceased by many well-loved friends and family members, his parents, Carl Rentz Fletcher, Mildred Montine (Chambers) Fletcher Blount, his sisters Farinda (Fletcher) Jones, Janice (Fletcher) Purdom, his father and mother in law, Clarence and Maxine Metz, brothers in law, Clary Jones and Greg Mullinix and a beloved grandson, William Colin Erow, who he missed and voiced he wants the first hug from in Heaven.
