Mrs. Carol Ann Taylor, 72

Mrs. Carol Ann Taylor, age 72, of Adel, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her residence after a lengthy illness.  She was born on August 18, 1950 in Thomasville, Georgia and was adopted as a baby by her loving parents, Carroll John “C.J.” and Annie B. Lewis.  Carol Ann grew up in Adel and was a 1968 Graduate of Cook County High School.  She later moved to Bailey, Colorado where she met her husband Walter Daniel “Dan” Taylor.  She was a Veterinary Technician and later owned her own pet sitting business in the mountain community of Bailey where she and Dan made their home for 30 years.

Carol Ann loved her friends in Adel and missed them through the years.  After Dan’s retirement in 2016, she was so happy to be able to move back to Adel into the same home she grew up in.  She had many friends through the years in Adel, Bailey CO, and Detroit MI.  Dan and Carol Ann lived a full and blessed life with their fur babies through the years.  Carol Ann had a heart of gold and loved all of her neighbors on Brookside Drive in Adel.

Illness struck Carol Ann in the latter part of 2016 when she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, but she was determined to beat the disease through research trials and the excellent care of specialists and local physician, Dr. Valencia, in Adel.  She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church of Adel.  She fought a good fight but the Lord brought her home disease free where she is now at peace.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two step-children and their spouses: Scott  and Trish Taylor of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and Amanda and Bart Dunfee of Yuma, Arizona; four grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Margaret Taylor of Mattoon, Illinois; sister-in-law, Valerie K. Taylor of Effingham, Illinois; mother-in-law, Dorothy L. Taylor of Mattoon, Illinois; many close friends: Peggy Noble, Troy and Delores Bryan, Mike Sirmans, Carol Burgdorf, Wanda Godwin Sellers, all of the Cook County area, Rudy and Lisa Gomez of Dexter, Michigan, Mike and Donna Sentel of Morrison, Colorado, Matt and Judy Bollinger of Cookson, Oklahoma, Mike and Billie Gayle Barnette of Ocoee, Florida, Bill Karges and Blair Simmons of Detroit, Michigan, Wayne Mullins of Littleton, Colorado, George Nano and family of Freemont, California, and classmates of the 1968 Cook County High School; neighbors Betty Burgdorf and Jan Lindsey; and her fur baby, Cha Cha.

Per her wishes, there will be no services.  Boone Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the Taylor family.
