Mr. Curtis “Red” Hammock, Jr., 76

Mr. Curtis “Red” Hammock, Jr., age 76, of Adel, Georgia passed away December 26, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. Mr. Hammock was born June 17, 1946 in Metter, Georgia to the late Curtis Allen Lee Hammock, Sr. and Mary Lou Bryant Hammock Willen. He lived most of his life in Cook County and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Ellenton Ag Services and was a longtime employee of Adel Feed and Seed. Mr. Hammock loved the kids in Cook County, coached Little League Sports for many years and loved a game of men’s softball. He was also a fan of Lonnie Roberts Racing and spent a lot of time watching and helping Lonnie Roberts.

Mr. Hammock is survived by his wife, Thelma Bennett Hammock of Adel; one daughter, Polly Ann Young of Canton, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law: Barry and Stacy Hammock of Helena, Alabama and Brian and Amanda Hammock of Morton, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren: Heather and Robbie O’Donnell of Canton, Georgia; Kanda and JR Giles of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Tyler Lee Young of Kennesaw, Georgia; Hunter Hammock and Mason Hammock, both of Morton, Pennsylvania; Liam Kade Hammock-Johnson of Homewood, Alabama; five great grandchildren: Kiersten Giles and Bronson Giles of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Hadley, Norah and Bobby O’Donnell all of Canton, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Hammock, and his sister, Faye Tarlton.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2022 in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Elder Dwight Marshall officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation was conducted at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.  Special music for the service included “For Your Precious Love”, “Stand By Me” and “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful”.  Robbie O’Donnell, JR Giles, Tyler Young, Hunter Hammock, Tony Baldree and Jody Baldree served as active pallbearers; Mason Hammock and Liam Hammock-Johnson served as honorary pallbearers.
