Mrs. Barbara Sumner Hall, age 83, of Adel, Georgia, passed away at her home on November 9, 2022. She was born in Enigma, Georgia on February 27, 1939 and was the daughter of John Floyd Sumner, Sr. and Lillian Kathryn Evers Sumner. Mrs. Hall lived in Cook County all of her life. She was retired from the Cook County Health Department and was a member of Springhead Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Wall of Adel; four grandchildren and their spouses: Jarrod and Gracie Alley of San Antonio, Texas, Heather and Paul McIntyre, Leah and Devin Morris, Emily Wall and her fiancé, Jake Stamey, all of Adel; four great-grandchildren: Kinsey McIntyre, Wesley McIntyre, Reagan Alley and Grayson Morris; a brother, John Floyd Sumner, Jr. of Laurel, Mississippi; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Carleen and Malcolm Smith of Savannah, Georgia, and Carolyn Phillips of Adel; a sister-in-law, Hilda Sumner of Sparks, Georgia; and a special friend, Gene Hamner of Adel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Holland Hall; a daughter, Tonya Guajardo; a son, Keith Hall; a brother, Winston Sumner; and two sisters: Betty Maddox and Peggy North.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hall was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Springhead Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Taylor officiating and eulogies being provided by Heather McIntyre, Kinsey McIntyre and Emily Wall. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation was conducted at Springhead Baptist Church one hour prior to the funeral service. Wesley McIntyre, Devin Morris, Jake Stamey, Leo Guajardo, Rusty Acree and Wade Keck served as active pallbearers and members of the Forever Young Senior Adult Group of Springhead Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers. Special music at the service included “Amazing Grace” and “Scars in Heaven.”
