Mrs. Mildred Carter Joiner Renfroe “Millie”, 84
Mrs. Mildred Carter Joiner Renfroe “Millie”, 84 of Wilmore, Kentucky passed away September 20, 2022 at her residence. Milllie was born September 13, 1938 in Cook County, Georgia to the late Marcus William Carter and Robbie Florence Cannon Carter. She was one of seen children in a home where love abounded. She graduated from Cook High School and after business school, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She married B.S. “Jerry” Joiner and had two children. Millie was a dedicated mother and enjoyed a successful career as a legal assistant. She worked at prestigious law firms such as Westmorland & Hall and Davis, Matthews and Quigley. Millie excelled in cooking and gardening. In 2o1o she married Carlton E. Renfroe, Jr. of Dunwoody, and especially enjoyed gardening, supporting patriots, learning the history of Dunwoody, and caring for her cat and cocker spaniel dog.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Julie Joiner Marchman of Wilmore, Kentucky and her siblings Eugene Carter of Goldsboro, North Carolina; Patricia Carter of Columbus, Georgia; Boneta Sellars of Valdosta, Georgia and Brinson Carter of Stockton, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton E. Renfroe, Jr., her son Kenneth T. Joiner; her parents Marcus Carter and Robbie Carter; one brother, Raymond Carter; and one sister, Lenora C. Winderweedle.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. Adel, Georgia with Rev. Johnny Crist officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Darron Carter, Evan Carter, Craig Carter, Garrett Carter, Ethan Carter, and Payton Carter will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funder home prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Wounded Warriors Project, American Heart Association or to the Kidney Foundation.
