Mrs. Hazel Futch, 84

Mrs. Hazel Futch, age 84, of Adel, Georgia, passed away at her home on September 7, 2022.  She was born in Adel on October 29, 1937 and was the daughter of Thomas Henry Carr and Nellie Hazel Brazell Carr.  She was a lifelong resident of Cook County where she was a retired custodian for First Baptist Church of Adel and Adel United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Futch was a member of Gordon Avenue Baptist Church.

Mrs. Futch is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Debbie Futch of Adel; her grandchildren, Heather Futch of Jasper, Florida and Scotty and Tiffany Futch of Tallahassee, Florida; four great-grandchildren: Alyssa Futch, Elizabeth Futch, Charlee Futch, all of Valdosta, Georgia, and Alex Futch of Tallahassee.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Teresa Futch; three brothers: Jack Carr, Leon Carr and Paul Carr; and her sister, Ethel Carter.

The funeral service for Mrs. Futch was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home South (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel) with Dr. Danny Ray officiating.  Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex.  Visitation was held at Boone Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2022.  “Amazing Grace”, “I’ll Fly Away” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain” were played at the service and Scotty Futch, Chris Carr, Joey Ray, Jeff Ray, Billy Ray, Steve Parry and Dennis Baldree served as pallbearers.
