Mr. Morris “Bud” Long, 79
Morris “Bud” Long, 79 of Sparks passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Bud was born May 3, 1943 to the late Carl Leo & Oma McCormick Long. He served 10 years with the United States Marines, and 11 years with the United States Army during the Korean War and the Vietnam War.. Bud was a member of the Patriot Riders and loved riding his Harley Davidson and fast cars.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Long of Sparks; sons, Steve Brady of Nashville, and Ricky (Selena) Brady of Nashville; grandchildren, Lane (Hannah) Riley of Blairsville, Deven (Alex) Brady of Thomasville, Ridge Brady of Albany, Katie Riley of Adel, and Luke Brady of Nashville; great grandchildren, Rayland Brady, Memphis Brady, Skylee Clendenen, Zoey Clendenen, and Blakley Jade Brady; brother, Jim Long; and sister, Pearl LaFoon; nieces, Kasey LaFoon, Kensey Palomo, and Kayla LaFoon. Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Riley, and granddaughter, Jade Brady; brothers, Bob Long, Gary Long, and Paul Long; sisters, Vicki Cooper, and Joann Daniels.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 5, 2022 at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. William Davis officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.purvisfh.com. Purvis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
