Mrs. Doris Raper, 92

Mrs. Doris Raper, 92 of Thomasville, formerly of Adel passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Archbold Medical Center. Mrs. Raper was born on June 21, 1930 in Copeland, Arkansas to the late Daniel Edward Burt & Mary Maretta Barnes Burt. She was a member of Springhead Baptist Church. Mrs. Raper knew Christ was her Savior and she loved God and her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Horace Edwin (Gail) Raper, Jr of Dixie, Michael James (Ruthie) Raper of Ooltewah, TN, and Patricia Ann Raper (Greg) Souders of Thomasville; grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle) Raper, Jonathan (Christine) Raper, Timothy Raper, Christa (Oby) Graham, Jessica (John) Roberts, Matthew (Jennifer) Souders, Megan (Nathan) Rich, Joseph (Lori) Souders, Joshua (Claire) Raper, Alyssa Souders, David Souders, and Vivian Raper; great grandhildren, Ian Raper, Kyle Raper, Emma Heinek, Seth Murray, Conner Graham, Sophie Graham, Ava Rich, Lane Rich, Owen Souders. Mrs. Raper was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years together, Horace E. Raper; son, Horace Ronald Raper; grandchild, Edwin George Raper; brothers, Daniel Buford Burt, & Johnnie Eugene Burt; and sisters, Lola Irilla Burt Haynes, and Zona Fern Burt.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Souders officiating. Interment followed at Sparks City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
