Mr. Russell “Rusty” McCranie, Jr., 52

Mr. Russell “Rusty” McCranie, Jr., age 52, of Adel, Georgia passed away on August 24, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.  Rusty was born on March 31, 1970 in Valdosta, Georgia to Russell W. McCranie, Sr. and Mary Ann Rogers McCranie.  He lived all of his life in Cook County and was of the Baptist faith.  He was retired from the Cook County Commissioners where he last served as Cook County’s road superintendent.

Mr. McCranie is survived by his son, Tucker McCranie of Adel; his parents, Russell, Sr. and Mary Ann Rogers McCranie of Adel; his sister and brother-in-law, Tresa and Fred Rayfield of Adel; maternal grandmother, Charlotte Folsom of Adel; uncle and aunt, Buddy and Lyn Rogers of Adel; two nieces, Charley (Jake) Green of Muldrow, Oklahoma and Bailey Rayfield of Adel; a host of cousins; and his “Special Friend”, Sassy.

A graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Antioch Church Cemetery with Rev. Chad Roland officiating. Interment followed.  Pallbearers will include Wilson Tucker, John Bearden, Ron Gibbs, Dalton Resta, Mason Resta, Jacob Morgan and Jerod Howell.
