Mrs. Billie Sue Futch, 89

Mrs. Billie Sue Futch, age 89, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on August 7, 2022 at Southwell Health and Rehab in Adel.  She was born in Adel on February 6, 1933 and her parents were John Hammond Dampier and Johnnie Nell Deal Dampier.  She lived in Cook County all of her life where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Adel.  Mrs. Futch retired from The Adel News-Tribune where she worked as a proofreader.  She was also one of the “Cow Belles” which were the ladies of the Cook County Livestock Association of which she along with her husband were a founding members.

Mrs. Futch is survived by her son, Joe Futch of Thomasville, Georgia; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Lyn and Buddy Rogers, Lucy Bozeman, Leigh and Alan Dukes, all of Adel; twelve grandchildren: Leslie and Kent Harvey of Thomasville, Clint Rogers of Adel, Chris Rogers of Adel, Errin Bagwell of Harlem, GA, Daniel and Brandy Dukes of Adel, Trammell and Emily Dukes of Greenville, FL, Katie Futch of Cairo, GA, Kellie Futch of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Justin Futch of Cairo, Austin Futch, Khia Futch and Tony Futch, all of Thomasville; 13 great-grandchildren: Kenlie Harvey, Reid Harvey, Emma Rogers, Dylan Rogers, Cole Rogers, Caleb Rogers, Kade Rogers, Megan Bagwell, Kate Bagwell, Jackson Dukes, Presley Dukes, Tate Dukes and Whit Dukes.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Futch was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thomas Futch.

A graveside service for Mrs. Futch will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel with Elder Thad Marshall and Elder Dwight Marshall officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your favorite charity in honor of Mrs. Futch.  Joe Futch, Clint Rogers, Chris Rogers, Daniel  Dukes, Trammel Dukes and Tony Futch will serve as pallbearers.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.  –Boone Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with all arrangements.
