Margaret Ellen Bradford Futch, 87

Mrs. Margaret Ellen Bradford Futch, 87, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on April 28, 2022, at Southwell Medical Center in Adel.  She was born on March 27, 1935, in Morven, Georgia to Windol McKinley Bradford and Ruth Estelle Cobb Bradford. Mrs. Futch lived most of her life in Cook County where she was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a retired administrative assistant with Civil Service.

Mrs. Futch is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Rhonda and Kevin Blanton and Ellen and Brian Odom, all of Adel; seven grandchildren: Garrett Blanton of Jacksonville, Florida, Marlee Futch of Adel, Terry Speicher, Jr. of Delta, Colorado, Tyler and Victoria Odom (stationed at Camp LeJeune) of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Steve Odom (stationed at Camp Pendleton) of Oceanside, California, Charlee Odom of Adel and Sedrick Pinkney who is also stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California; two great-grandchildren: Jackson Fulghum of Adel and October Speicher of Delta, Colorado; and three sisters and a brother-in-law: Lynda Smith, Nancy Smith, and Fredda and Render Folsom, all of Adel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Jack Futch; a sister, Latrelle Gornto; and six brothers-in-law: Edgar Gornto, Donnie Smith, Terry Smith, Jack Adleburg, Mike Kravec, and James Philpot.

The funeral service for Mrs. Futch was held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 2, 2022, in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Ike Jefferson and Elder Thad Marshall officiating and the eulogy provided by Mrs. Franna Taylor.  Interment followed at Futch Cemetery in Cook County.  Garrett Blanton, Terry Speicher, Tyler Odom, Steve Odom, Sedrick Pinkney and Todd Kravec served as active pallbearers and Leslie Folsom, Lee Folsom, Rodney Smith, Andy Smith, Troy Philpot and Jody Futch served as honorary pallbearers.  “Amazing Grace,” “Till the Storm Passes By,” “Angel Band” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain” were played at the service.  Visitation was held at the funeral home on Sunday evening, May 1, 2022, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.  Boone Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
