Thomas Lee Durham, 90
Thomas Lee Durham, at the age of 90 and resident of Valdosta, GA passed away on February 24, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. Tom was born on April 22, 1931 to Ernest and Kate Durham in Woodstock, GA. After Tom graduated from high school he joined the US Air Force in 1950 and served his country for over 20 years. During Tom’s time in the military, he learned about electronics and communications. Tom traveled the world and in 1956 he met and married Felicity
Eyles of Kent, England. Tom and Felis went on to have six children, nine grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.
After Tom retired from the Moody Air Force Base he chose to make Valdosta his home. He opened his own electronic store for a short time, managed and maintained a local radio station, repaired TVs and electronics video games. Tom retired from work in 1986 and became a cycling enthusiast. He rode hundreds of mile every week. Tom became so fit that while in his sixties he ran the Peachtree Road Race multiple times.
Tom’s favorite hobby was photography. From an early age Tom spent his time taking pictures. Tom could often be seen at local sporting events taking photos and then posting them on the web for people to download. Tom was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Kate Durham and two daughters Donna and Veronica Durham.
Tom is survived by children Kathie Cochran, David Durham, Renee Henderson, and Robert Durham; grandchildren Nicole Rentz, Dustin Cochran, Jessica Guess, Samantha Durham, Joy Begue, Veronica Henderson, Jordan Voight, Shelby Tyson, Dylan Durham; great grandchildren Hailey Rentz, Caleb Rentz, Clay Cochran, Sophia Guess, Maggie Guess, Abbie Hall, Callie Hall, Jon Durham, Bonnie Durham, Alexa Begue, Avery Begue, Addilynn Begue, Trenton Begue, Emersyn
