William R. “Bill” Tyson, 80

Mr. William R. “Bill” Tyson, 80, of Sparks, Georgia,
passed away on February 17, 2022 at the Haven Hospice Facility
of the Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, Florida.
He was born in Sparks on August 28, 1941 and his parents
were the late Sankey B. Tyson and Ila Mae Moore Tyson.
Mr. Tyson lived most of his life in Cook County where he was
a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired
maintenance engineer for American Hotels and also served
honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.
Mr. Tyson is survived by his wife, Carolyn Anne “Mickie”
Faulkner Tyson of Sparks; a daughter and son-in-law, Lee
Ann and Don Greene of New Port Richey, Florida; a stepson
and daughter-in-law, Vance and Karen Dean of Adel,
Georgia; seven grandchildren: Ariell Greene, Austin Greene
and Payton Greene all of New Port Richey, Kaylin Peterson
of Moultrie, Georgia, Kelsey Peterson of Orlando, Florida,
Owen Peterson and Ellie Dean, both of Adel; a brother,
Charles and Polly Tyson of Bainbridge, Georgia; three sisters
and a brother-in-law: Jackie McCrary, Shirley Dyer, Polly
and George Talley, all of Valdosta, Georgia. He was preceded
in death by two brothers, Jimmy Tyson and Mike Tyson, and
a sister, Jean Ann Phillips.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at
2:00 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Brushy Creek
Baptist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to
