Jere Anna Sumner Hargett, 74

Jere Anna Sumner Hargett, 74, of Sparks passed away
Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at her
residence. Her funeral service was held
at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2022,
in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson
Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jimmy
Parker officiating. Mrs. Hargett was laid
to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Courtney Howell, Chad Alexander,
Chuck Powell, Eric Saunders, Glenn
Saunders, Jonathan Rogers, Ryan Lindsey,
Daniel Connell, Will Daughtrey and Gehrig Rogers
served as pallbearers.
Born July 11, 1947, in Tifton, Mrs. Hargett was the daughter
of the late Steve Sumner and Louise Nipper Sumner. She
was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wayne
Hargett, who passed away September 6, 2021. She was a retired
educator and a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church
in Cook County. She was also a member of the Adel Pilot
Club, Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, the Cook County
Arts Council and the Cook County Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. Hargett is survived by two sisters and brothers-inlaw,
Jan and Ken Saunders of Hahira and Marthi and Peter
Munson of Bluffton, South Carolina; one brother and sisterin-
law, Bill and Carol Ann Lindsey of Macon;; an aunt, Kitty
Noles of Adel; her nieces and nephews, Melissa and Jonathan
Rogers, Glenn and Erin Saunders, Eric Saunders, Ryan Lindsey
and Jensen Lindsey. She was also survived by five sisters-
in-law and their husbands, Ann Hargett, Rosemary and
Rodney Alexander, Nelda and Charles Powell, all of Tifton,
Janice and Larry Dees of Ty Ty and Clarice and Tobie Sumler
of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Gail Hargett of Sumner; and many
nieces and nephews of the Hargett family.
