Jack D. Bryan, 78

Mr. Jack D. Bryan, 78, of Sparks, Georgia passed away on January 18, 2022 at the Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, Georgia. Mr. Bryan was born on July 19, 1943 in Berrien County to the late Thomas Baker “T.B.” Bryan and Eunie Malissie Fort Bryan. He lived most of his life in Cook County and was a retired supervisor with Berlin Industries and C & D Sportswear. Mr. Bryan was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Cook County.

Mr. Bryan is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: David and Tina Bryan of Cecil, Georgia and Jonathan Bryan of Sparks; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Teresa and Kevin Giles of Adel, Georgia and Melissa and Tony Harrison of Sparks; six grandchildren: Audrey Whittle of Providence, Rhode Island, Seth and Kelly Harrison of Sparks; Sgt. Caleb Harrison USMC of Chicago, Illinois, Jacob Bryan, Brandon Bryan and Jonah Bryan all of Cecil; two sisters: Jewel Bryan and Mearl Griffin, both of Lenox, Georgia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Brady Bryan, four brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at New Life Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Duncan officiating, Mrs. Paula Raley providing the eulogy and Rev. Chad Payne officiating at the graveside. Interment will follow at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel, Georgia. Special video and musical presentations at the service included “Celebrate Me Home” and “I Want to Be That Man”; the church choir sang “When the Morning Comes” and “When We All Get to Heaven.” Mr. Larry Corbett led the congregation at the graveside in the singing of one verse of “Nothing But the Blood” and Tonya Whitman played piano for the service. Chase Harrell, Curtis Hamilton, George Griffin, Joel Reddick, Chad Sumner and Travis Smith served as active pallbearers and Lewis Strickland, Bobby Brady, Phil Merwin, Bobby Morrell, Jackie Raley, Lloyd Tribble, Jerry Joiner, Michael Dinnerman, Gene Huffstuttler, William Huffstuttler, Benny Bryan, Thomas Bryan and Ricky Mathis served as honorary pallbearers. Visitation was conducted from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
