Ruth Padgett, 88

Mrs. Ruth Padgett, 88, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on December 20, 2021 at Southwell Nursing Center in Adel. She was born in Pelham, Georgia on March 21, 1933 and is the daughter of the late Howard Lee Lane and Ruby Lee Bass Lane. Mrs. Padgett lived most of her life in Cook and Tift Counties. She was retired from the Adel Truck Stop where she worked as a waitress. Mrs. Padgett was a member at the New River Baptist Church.

Mrs. Padgett is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Sheryl Lawler of Hixson, Tennessee; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Nick Brady of Perry, Florida; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Larry Lane of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Tony Lane of Alabama. A host of extended step-family also survives. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas David “T.D.” Padgett; a daughter, Linda “Dinky” Baker; a granddaughter, Jodi Hiers; a sister, Margie Alesi; and a brother, Alton Lane.

A graveside service for Mrs. Padgett was held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Sparks City Cemetery with Mrs. Sherry Brady officiating. “Dancing in the Sky” was played at the service. Visitation was held from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Wednesday; December 22, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home prior to the service. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.
