18th Annual Adel Daylily Festival to feature new layout and activities

orange daylilyAdel, Ga.’s signature community event, the 18th Annual Daylily Festival, will be celebrated this Saturday, May 11, 2024.

The weather is expected to be cool and dry on Saturday after early summer heat and rain earlier in the week, so turnout should be strong.

The fun will kick off bright and early at 8 a.m. Saturday with the Daylily 5K Run at the Cook County Livestock Pavilion on North Elm Street. For details and registration, please go to www.adelcookchamber.org.

The Daylily Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Depot in downtown Adel.

Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce President Heather Green said the festival will have a good variety of arts and crafts and food vendors. The event will feature kids’ activities, live music and entertainment, live daylilies and plants, and much more.

Mrs. Green said the festival layout will be different this year. The food court and entertainment stage will be located south of South Georgia Graphics on the grassy lot (Burwell Avenue). The kids’ area will be in The Depot parking lot.

A new activity will be the Car Cruise-In, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Line-up will be on Fifth Street in downtown Adel. All vehicles are welcome.
