Lean-Ox Festival will be back this weekend

Lean-Ox, Cook County, Georgia’s oldest festival established in 1980, will return to Lenox on Friday, Nov. 17, and Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023.

The festival will feature vendors and music from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. Bootleg Stereo will perform for the Friday night street dance starting at 7.

Festival Day will start at 8 a.m. Saturday, with a Kids Zone featuring activities ranging from pony and train rides to a fishing game. There will be plenty of arts-and-crafts and food vendors; many will be new.

The line-up for the parade will be at 10 a.m., and the parade will kick off at 11 a.m. Two marching bands will be participating this year, the Cook High Marching Hornets and the Blue Devil Brigade. Santa will ride in on the Lenox fire truck, and kids may visit with him afterwards.

The Dixie Divas with Ladonna Stripling will perform Saturday afternoon. Music starts at 2 p.m.
