Trunk or Treat draws crowd to Reed Bingham State Park

A crowd turned out on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, for Trunk or Treat in the Park. The event, presented by Friends of Reed Bingham State Park, was at the ball field.
Trunk or Treat featured free face painting; free hay rides around the park; a free bounce house; hot cocoa, coffee, snow cones, and concessions available for purchase; games; and more.
Friends of Reed Bingham would like to thank all for coming out and participating. Special thanks to the trunk sponsors, the volunteers, Cook County Emergency Management Agency and Fire Department, Marshal and Sparky, and the park staff. It was a great event.

Upcoming Events at Reed Bingham State Park

Guided Nature Trail Tour
A guided nature trail tour will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. $3, plus $5 parking.
Join a ranger for a guided tour on Reed Bingham’s beautiful nature trails. Meeting point: Little River Trail entrance.
Bring your binoculars, as we’ll also be on the lookout for birds and other wildlife. Be sure to bring bug spray and wear comfortable shoes. Dogs are welcome!

Mini Witch’s Broom Craft
9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. $3, plus $5 parking.
Gather your imagination and get ready to get creative! Join a ranger at the stage by the ball field in making a mini witch’s broom.

Trick or Treat Around the Campgrounds
Friends of Reed Bingham State Park will present Trick or Treat Around the Campgrounds from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022.
The event will feature trick or treating, free hay rides, and a best decorated camper contest. Tickets may be purchased for $1 each to vote for your favorite decorated camper.
$5 parking fee is required.

Ask the Naturalist
9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30. $5 parking.
A naturalist will be in front of the Cook side playground with a display ready to answer your questions about wildlife.
