The Circlestone Ladies Golf Association held a ladies golf tournament, the first-ever Diamonds in the Rough, on Oct. 1, 2022, with 23 teams from the surrounding area as far away as Douglas, Waycross, Moultrie, and Lake Park participating.

The girls worked tirelessly procuring donors and had hoped to raise $5,000 in tournament proceeds. Local sponsors gave contributions to support the fundraiser.

The Ladies Golf Association held a silent auction and lunch after the tournament, where they also presented awards. The event featured a champagne toast to breast cancer survivors and a silent auction. Gift bags, golf tees, and swag bags were gifts for participants.

After all was said and done, with such a huge response, the Ladies Golf Association had raised $25,000 from the tournament.

The Ladies Golf Association was honored to present $25,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. A sincere thank you to everyone who made this possible.

Susan G. Komen is a breast cancer organization in the United States. Komen focuses on patient navigation and advocacy, providing resources for breast cancer patients to understand the American medical system. It has also funded research into the causes and treatment of breast cancer.

Next year, the Ladies Golf Association plans to take nominations and donate the money to local recipients.
