Mrs. Sue Davis Blanton, 82
Mrs. Sue Davis Blanton passed away December 22, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Alapaha, Georgia. Mrs. Blanton was born August 7, 1940 in Cook County to the late Leaf Lonnie Davis and Flora Belle Young Davis. Mrs. Blanton lived all of her life in Cook County and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Adel. She worked many years as a supervisor at C and D Sportswear, and later was secretary at Blanton Cabinet Shop, a great homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Blanton.
Mrs. Blanton is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jerri Blanton of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; her daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Phillip Turner of Alapaha, Georgia; four grandchildren: Austin Turner of Nashville, Georgia, Lauren and William Cutshaw of Alapaha, Amanda and Tanner Smith of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Thomas Blanton of Raleigh, North Carolina; four great grandchildren: Shepard Smith of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; Maddox Cutshaw, Thomas Cutshaw and Madeline Cutshaw, all of Alapaha; one brother and sister-in-law, Robby and Marlyn Davis of Adel, Georgia. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Edwin Davis, Ralph D. Davis and Rufus R. Davis; and two sisters: Kay Moore and Yvonne Thomas.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the Adel First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Nick Kinsey and Rev. Chris Newbern officiating. Interment followed at Crossroads Church Cemetery. Visitation took place at the church one hour prior to the service. Kenny Davis, Randy Davis, Timmy Davis, Eric Moore, Brandon Mainor, Blake Mainor and Tyler Quick served as pallbearers. The trio of Brittney Mainor, Ashley Mainor and Tyler Quick sang “Amazing Grace”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Because He Lives” and “When We All Get to Heaven” at the service.
