Miss Gwen Hanks, 70

Miss Gwen Hanks, age 70, of Adel, Georgia, passed away September 13, 2022 at the Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, Georgia.  Miss Hanks was born on August 2, 1952 in Adel, Georgia to William Gary “Bill” Hanks and Rose Sincore Hanks.  She retired as the Executive Director for the Clinch County Development Authority.  Miss Hanks lived most of her life in Cook County and was of the Christian faith.

Miss Hanks is survived by her mother, Rose Sincore Hanks of Adel; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Anna Barbara Hanks of Adel; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Deanese and Jeff Willis of Valdosta and Donna Gail Hanks of Gainesville, Georgia; several nephews and nieces: Gary Willis of Warner Robins, Craig and Anna Willis of Valdosta, Brittany and Gary Rowan of Adel and Dylan Hanks of Adel; great nephews and nieces: Coleman Willis and Brooks Willis of Warner Robins, Lawton Rowan and Nora Rowan of Adel, Evan Willis and Eliza Willis of Valdosta; a host of cousins also survive.  In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her fiancé, Larry Nixon.

A graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Woodlawn City Cemetery with Rev. Michael Bass officiating and the eulogy being given by Craig Willis.  Steve Meders sang “Amazing Grace” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain” at the service.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.boonefunerals.com.  Boone Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the Hanks family.
