Hornets continue to fight but fall short in Crisp County 55-33

This continues to be a rebuilding year for the Cook High Varsity Basketball.

Tayshawn Durden led the Hornets with nine points, and William Powell had seven points. The Hornets had a strong third quarter, but just could not overcome the size and power of the Cougars.

Hornets fall to Worth 53-43

Cook Boys out played the Rams in the second half but the Worth County Boys were too strong in the first half. Up 28-13 at the half was just too much. The Hornets are 1-12 on the year and 0-2 in Region 1AAA. Next game is Tuesday at Monroe for another region game.

Lady Hornets get first win of season

The Lady Hornets traveled to Ocilla to play Irwin to get their first win of the season. They defeated the Lady Indians 34-25.

The Lady Hornets maintained the lead for the whole game. This was a much needed win for the Cook Girls. They were 1-7 on the year going into a Christmas Tournament in Thomasville.

Jakia Sharpe hits six free throws as Cook falls to Crisp County

Sharpe was perfect from the line, hitting all of her free throws, but it was another bad day for the Lady Hornets. Young and inexperienced players will get better. Be patient.

Lady Rams dominated Lady Hornets 51-13

Not sure if you would say both teams played great defense in the second quarter, or was there just a lack of offense? Neither team scored in the second quarter, but Worth ran away with the region game.

The Lady Hornets are 1-12 overall and 0-2 in the region. They were scheduled to play the Monroe Lady Tornadoes on Tuesday in Albany.
