Leonard C. Harper, 89
Mr. Leonard C. Harper, 89, of Jackson, Georgia, formerly of Adel, Georgia, passed away on December 17, 2019 at Pruitt Nursing Home in Forsyth, Georgia. The son of Isom Leonard Harper and Ollie Herring Harper, he was born on January 8, 1930 in Ambrose, Georgia. He lived most of his life in Kissimmee, Florida and 20 years in Cook County. Mr. Harper was a retired farmer and heavy equipment operator for the Mickler Mill Company. He was a long time member of the Adel First Assembly of God and in his later years attended Jackson First Baptist Church.
Mr. Harper is survived by four sons and a daughter-in-law: Michael C. Harper of St. Petersburg, Florida, A. Curtis and Linda L. Harper of Kissimmee, Richard L. Harper of DeLand, Florida, and Steven C. Harper of New Port Richey, Florida; one daughter, Patricia Ann Harper of Jackson, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Lori Saylor of Alaska, Ashley Fegan Doerr of Jackson, Azure Reyes of West Virginia, Tayler Figueroa of Kissimmee, Amy Harper of DeLand, Casey Harper of St. Petersburg, Heather Campins of Texas and Melony Harper of St. Cloud, Florida; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Louise McDaniel Harper; and two sisters and two brothers.
The funeral service for Mr. Harper will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Don Harper officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at Longbridge Cemetery in Berrien County immediately following the service.
